Ms. Betsy Ann Chavis, 82, of Personal Touch Family Care, Rowland, formerly of Fairmont, died, Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Southeastern Hospice House. She was preceded in death by her mother: Ms. Hastan Hunt, her father: Mr. Cleveland Hunt and her husband: Mr. Worth Chavis.
The funeral will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Monday, April 20, 2009, at Elrod Baptist Church with the Revs: Gary Chavis and Robert Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Lumbee Memorial Gardens.
Ms. Chavis is survived by two sons: Mr. Billy James Chavis of Pembroke and Mr. Tony Ray Chavis of Fairmont; five daughters: Mrs. Caroline Bullard of Rowland, Ms. Mary Ann Locklear, Ms. Betty Jean Chavis both of Lumberton, Ms. Barbara Ann Chavis and Ms. Sendorial Coreshia Revels both of Maxton; five brothers: Mr. Jimmy Hunt, Mr. Cleveland Hunt, Jr., Mr. Samuel Hunt all of Charlotte, Mr. Grover Hunt of Pembroke and Mr. Ricky Hunt of Laurinburg; two sisters: Ms. Allie Lois Sanderson of Fairmont and Ms. Mary Helen Mitchell of Laurinburg; thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 19, 2009, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
