Obituaries

Ms. Amy Denise Chavis                                     Jacksonville, Florida      Ms. Amy Denise Chavis, 47 years of age, of 9820 Riddle Road, Jacksonville, Florida departed this life on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Memorial Hospital.  Amy was born on November 18, 1962 in Robeson County.  She was preceded in death by her father: Mr. Laudell Chavis and a brother: Mr. Myron Todd Chavis.      Ms. Chavis was employed with UPS of Jacksonville, Florida.  She was a devoted mother to her children.      The funeral will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Union Chapel Holiness Methodist Church with the Rev. Willie Scott officiating.  Burial will follow in the Locklear Family Cemetery.      Ms. Chavis is survived by her companion:  Mr. Paul Badaszewski of the home; four sons: Mr. Shaun (Callista) Chavis of Pembroke, Mr. Matthew (Christina) Oxendine, Mr. Kevin Badaszewski and Mr. Joseph Badaszewski all of Florida; a daughter: Miss Lekota Badaszewski of Florida; her mother: Mrs. Willie Ree Chavis of Pembroke; six brothers: Mr. Ronnie (Charity) Revels, Mr. Anthony Chavis, Mr. George Eddie Chavis, Mr. Avery Keith Chavis, all of Pembroke,  Mr. Laudell (Sherry) Chavis, Jr. of Alabama and Mr. Michael (Patricia) Chavis of Raleigh; two sisters: Mrs. Brenda Faye (Earl) Maynor and Mrs. Willie Ann (Larry) Locklear both of Pembroke; two grandchildren: Miss Kaitlyn and Master Shaun Matt Chavis.      The family will receive friends Saturday, May 29, 2010, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
