Mrs. Diane L. Bullard, age 64, of 125 Lonnie Farm Road, was born December 29, 1944 and died Monday, March 30, 2009, at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents: Mr. Reedy & Mrs. Zelma M. Lowry; a brother: Mr. Johnson Lowry and a grandson: Mr. Quentin Cummings.
Mrs. Diane was known for her love of flowers and her collection of dolls, puzzles and cross-stitch pieces. Also, her specialty was baking raw apple pound cakes and making hot dry beef dip for any occasion.
The funeral will be conducted 4:00 p.m., Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with the Revs: Steve Strickland, Marshall Strickland and Donald Bullard officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Airy Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Bullard leaves to cherish her memories: her husband: Mr. Chester Bullard; three sons: Mr. Eric Cummings and his wife: Mrs. Gale, Mr. Kent Cummings and his wife: Mrs. Tanya, Mr. Royce Reedy Cummings and his wife: Mrs. Sandra; a daughter: Mrs. Penny Locklear and her husband: Mr. Robert Wayne all of Pembroke; three step-sons: Mr. Victor Bullard and his wife: Mrs. LeSonya, Mr. Jamie Bullard and Mr. Christopher Bullard; three step-daughters: Mrs. Teresa Oxendine and her husband: Mr. Scottie, Ms. Tina Bullard and her significant other: Mr. Ray Shawn and Ms. Vicky Bullard all of Red Springs; four brothers: Mr. Curlin Lowry and his wife: Mrs. Brenda, Mr. Reedy Lowry, Jr. and his wife: Mrs. Brenda, Mr. Robin Lowery and his wife: Mrs. Dale, Mr. Marlon Lowry and his wife: Mrs. Delois; three sisters: Mrs. Edith Strickland and her husband: Mr. Reggle, Mrs. Shelia Hunt and her husband: Mr. Bennie and Mrs. Lelia Jacobs and her husband: Mr. Benton; twenty-five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her special dog: Tuff and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
