Mrs. Shirleen Locklear Briggs, 40, of 596 George & Mollie Road, was born December 12, 1967 and departed this life on Monday, April 14, 2008 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her father: George Albert Locklear; a brother: Albert Lee Locklear; a nephew: James Jr. Locklear and her mother-in-law: Rosemary Briggs.
The funeral will be conducted 3 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2008, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with the Revs: Steve Strickland and Gerald Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Locklear Family Cemetery.
Surviving are her husband: Daniel Charles Briggs of the home; her mother: Veola Locklear of Pembroke; a step-son: Sean Garrett Harris of Wisconsin; four brothers: James Albert Locklear, Leon Carr Locklear, Marvin George Locklear all of Pembroke and Scottie Lynn Locklear of Lumberton; three sisters: Peggie Jean Locklear, Dora Lee Locklear both of Pembroke and Veanna Christian of Lumberton; ten nephews; twelve nieces; seventeen great-nephews; eighteen great-nieces; three special God daughters: Shirley Ann Locklear, Kristy Nicole Hunt and Kyhia Leann Deese and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 17, 2008, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
