Mr. Donald Baker, Sr., 76, of 4215 Moss Neck Rd, was born June 25, 1932 and departed this life Monday, June 1, 2009 at Southeastern Hospice House. He was preceded in death by his parents: Arrin J. Baker and Lettie M. Hunt Baker.
The funeral will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Sandy Plains United Methodist Church with the Revs: Mattheue Locklear, and Robert Mangum officiating. Burial will follow at Lumbee Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are his wife: Patsy B. Baker of the home; two sons: Anthony Baker, Sr. and wife Peggy of Pembroke, and Donald Baker, Jr. and wife Foncell of Pembroke; two daughters: Pamela B. Baker of Southport, NC and Lisa R. Baker of Graham, NC; two brothers: William N. Baker of Texas and Ozell Baker of Pembroke; two sisters: Velma Deese of Rowland and Joyce Baker of Pembroke; nine grandchildren: Leslie B. Brayboy, Mary A. Baker, Anthony Baker, Jr., Melissa Bullard, Ashleigh Baker, Amanda Baker, Joseph D. Baker, Sherri L. Moore, and Patsy Lineberger; step-grandchildren: Rodney Hunt, Keysha Locklear, and Terri Hunt; great-grandchildren: Logan, Caitlin, Khristin, Lindsay, Abner, Marissa, Madison, Denver, Dakotah, and Jada.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Locklear and Son Funeral Home.
