Obituaries

Ms. Sherry Elaine Ammons                                             Pembroke          Ms. Sherry Elaine Ammons, 38, of 387 Soloman Road, Pembroke, was born November 3, 1971 and died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.  She is preceded in death by her father:  Mr. Donald Ray Ammons; her maternal grandparents: Mr. Adnell & Mrs. Bertha Locklear and a brother:  Mr. Earnest Ray “Pappy” Locklear.       The funeral will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Burnt Swamp Baptist Church with the Revs: Keith Long and Manford Locklear officiating.  Burial will follow in the Burnt Swamp Church Cemetery.      Ms. Ammons is survived by a daughter:  Miss Taylor Cheyanne Cummings of Benson, NC; her mother:  Ms. Bertha Lee Locklear of the home; four sisters:  Ms. Bernice “Sally” Locklear (Keith) of Maxton, Ms. Denise Westbury (Warren) of Lumberton, Ms. Denine Locklear of Pembroke, and Ms. Donna Kay Landis (Eugene) of Taylorsville, NC; and a special friend: Ms. Jessica Garfield and a host of relatives and friends.       The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2010 at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
